Hi,
I have a question regarding beam behavior: With 6/8 rhythm, I have the
following pattern:
1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
x16 x8 x16 x16 x16, usually this pattern starts or finishes one beat(ie.
there's x4. before or after it).
Now I want all five notes tied in one group, but also 3,4,5 tied in a

David,
Thanks for your reply, but it's not really what I meant.
In flamenco notation it's more common to use the \ltoe and \rtoe symbols
to indicate the direction for a stroke in rasgueado's, abanico's and
alzapua's, without finger symbols 'p', 'i', 'm', 'a' and 'x'. and
without printing the noteh

You have:
\new DrumVoice = "1" { s1 *2 }
\new DrumVoice = "2" { s1 *2 }
You need to change the spacings to last for the whole duration of the
piece. If you have 20 measures, write s1*20, etc.
If you do not then
Hi all,
I've seen a few discussions about Flamenco notations, but so far no
solution I liked.
In this example I created a golpe symbol (needs some enhancements, but I
like it so far) and a rasgueado, which can easily be implemented as an
abanico.
Now what I'ld like is a kinda function that allows
So I'm trying to use two voices to write a drum set part for a tune I'm
arranging in Lilypond. I looked at the "Percussion Staves" page in the
tutorial and pretty much did exactly what they did. Instead of combining the
voices onto the same staff as was used earlier for when it was just one
voice,

I am a little confused by the following :
\override Score.BarNumber #'break-visibility = ##(#f #t #t)
\override Score.BarNumber #'break-visibility
= #end-of-line-invisible
- what is the default for before you tweak
- by setting end-of-line-invisible do I set the o
Unfortunately, variables can only be defined at the top level, but
it's not uncommon to see one or several variables used in the definition
of another one.

Hi, I am new to LilyPond and I wonder how to use
"local" variables inside a music expression.
I searched the list archives but did not find
anything.
Something like:
melody = {
c'8 d' e'
% long here
x = {8} % local assignment
\x c \x d \x e % use it
% long after
}
It is easy

One solution is to use the Dynamics context defined in the template called
"Piano centered dynamics".

Hi David,
I would also like to know if it is still possible to widen the
MultiMeasureRest.
I know this used to be possible with minimumMeasureWidth or something.
Haven't found a reference to anything like that in the current docs.
