Of course it should. But how to do so is s

Hi all,
I would like my chord names to be centred until they’re of a certain width (say
as wide as Cm7), and anything wider than that would extend to the right from a
position slightly to the left of the note column they’re attached to (as if
X-offset = -1).
Would this best be done with a Sche

Hi all,
Can someone tell me why the dynamics marking is not centered (like the
default) when using it as a 'compound' command/variable markup?
Is it not possible to create a compound dynamic variable like this (mp
dolce, etc) and have it still place the /dynamic/ centered under the
notehead

Hi Ben,
That's because your declaration is a TextScript markup, and by default, a
TextScript will be set flush left-aligned.

I'm attaching a scan from "The Easy Winners" by Scott Joplin, the way it

I can't seem to get it to display the way I want.

I think that D.C, D.S, and segno marks conventionally do not appear on each
stave, but usually either above each staff group or the entire system. If this
is not the case, what is the convention? If it is the case, then I have some
questions about how to achieve this.

So far, the best information I've seen for getting s
Hi all,
Some of you may remember my memory allocation error from a while ago:
trying to compile a 200-page PDF using a 32-bit version of Lilypond on a
64-bit Windows 10 system caused it to run out of memory. I eventually
solved the problem by running Lilypond under the Windows Subsystem for
Linux
This turns out to be a quite challenging snippet to engrave.
Here's the first attempt:
\version "2.18"
\partcombine
\relative {\time 2/4 \key aes\major g'16 8. ges16 8 des16~
| des8 f16 des ees f aes, a |}
\relative {\time 2/4 \key aes\major g'4

Hi Sachar, Hi Carl,
How about :
\relative c'' {
\time 2/4 \key aes\major
\mergeDifferentlyDottedOn
<<
{
g16 8. ges16 8 des16~ |
\stemNeutral 8 f'16 des ees f aes, a |
}
\\
{
g4 ges8. f16~ |
\once\hideNotes f4 s
}
>>
}
Cheers,
