Interesting! They look more different on yours than on mine. I'm not sure
why.

Yeah I tried that and it didn't look any different to me. I want the
sustainOn to be in the middle of the note head.

Thank you, Kenneth, for posting this, you beat me to it. I'm editing lead
sheets for a couple of ensembles and have run into the same issue. I have
used the segno structure for the repeat and inserted \coda manually. I
couldn't work out how to automate it with the \alternatives { { } { } }
Thank you so much Knute!
I have another question. Is there a way to get the sustain pedal to be
directly underneath the note instead of to the left? I tried
self-alignment-x = #1, but it didn't change anything.

Hi! I'm doing a notation assignment.
1) How do I get the pedal markings to show up bracket style when using the
Dynamics context for it?
2) How do I get the fingering 1 in the second voice to move above the Staff?

I've taken up Jean Abou Samra's invitation to develop my understanding of
Scheme through the scheme-sandbox. I'm on Windows 10 with Guile 2.2.7 in a
command prompt window. The command prompt looks correct:
scheme@(#{ g100}#)>.
I hit a wall right away. When I type "42", Scheme should print "42"
If you can use \wordwrap-string you can use \n for hard breaks. This doesn’t
seem to work with \wordwrap though...

I've done a number of scores where I'm having extra stanzas of lyrics added
either directly after the last staff of music, or, more frequently, on a
separate page. Either way, I use the \string-lines command. It has the
advantage of accepting an entire paragraph, and going along with the
