Let me remind all that the TM was packed for that vote, and the proponents for
funding could not reach a 2/3 majority…the outcome was hardly the outcome of
the work of a small number “vocal minority” at a Town Meeting where “a few
people showed up.”

Absolutely no one is refusing to accept that Option C won at the December
town meeting. That is an absurd claim.
People are, however, questioning the entire town meeting process and the
ability for a few people to have such a weighted effect on how the votes
will turn out.

Agree, 100% with Laura and everything she said!
This forum has turned into an echo chamber. I've lost any, and all, interest
in anything that comes for the ~12 or so people that feel compelled to post

As I recall, that vote wasn't at a town meeting, it was through the voting
process afterward. Where the people voting didn't approve of the design
that was being presented, and perhaps didn't fully understand the
implication that rejecting the design would also reject the state funding.

Yes and there was the famous meeting where few people showed up and voted down state funding for the school and cost us 60 plus million dollars because the vocal minority showed up. So we can thank our high tax bills on this horrible process.Adam M HogueCell: (978) 828-6184On Dec 19, 2023, at 11:1

I agree that the town meeting format needs change. Individual expression
in the meeting
was necessary when the meeting was the only forum. I would think that
information
tables can be set up by individuals or groups to disseminate a point of
view. It should be
open and all voices should be heard

In yesterday’s Globe, a story on how residents of Milton have enough
signatures to force a town wide ballot question on HCA.

I believe the proposal is to vote after, not in advance. So any floor
amendments would already have been established.
In my mind, the pinnacle of "democracy" is the vote. Not floor amendments,

My daughter and I enjoy the three or four times a year we have to be in a

save the trees, to offset the nightly hotel expenses.
I’m happy to set that fund in motion. Thanks in advance
