When you protect a dir/cst, the external scripts are no longer referenced.
At least last time I checked, there was no way that any edits on a
script made any differcence after protecting the director files.

i don't believe you need to be using the directImage xtra here.
just have the MIAW do a:
x = new(#bitmap)
x.image = (the stage).image
to copy the image to a member in the cast, or probably, just pass that
.image back out to the stage to assign to a member to display on screen.

BuddyAPI doesn't automatically set it back for you, you have to do that
sort of cleanup yourself. on exitMovie or somewhere like that, you set it
back to the original settings which you so cleverly saved somewhere.
Though it won't set it back if you crash...
