I know exactly what you mean about visuals! To understand Director's

Hi Warren,
Just read your sections on lists and OOP from your book. The examples you
used helped it click! I'm a visual thinker, never was good in logic or
algebra and your examples are excellent for people like me! You can bet I'm
going to add your book to my Director library.
Thanks!

Hi Neil,
I'll try to explain and give the relevant code without getting to "windy".
I have a global database gDatabase

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for your response! I'm rather vague on how the listToString
functions...do I then say something like:
put linearListOfStrings into field "entry" ?
In other words, how do I get this to appear in my field or text sprite?

Help! I am totally stumped after 4 very long days of trying to figure this
out! I thought I understood lists and very simple "databases"--just saving
and opening a text file with fileIO. Well silly me!
I have a section of this CDRom I am working on that has to capture the text

Thank you guys,
I'll try these and see what happens. Perhaps if I duplicate the list before
dumping it into the field I could then avoid hard returns in the actual
list, right?

Hi,
Is there any way to insert a RETURN or SPACE after each item in a linear
list? I am working on a questionaire with checkboxes that stores the text in
a global list and after the user is finished with the questionaire I want
them to be able to read the answers. So I've dumped the list into a fie
Hi James,
I thought about doing that, but since this will be converted to Shockwave
files, I didn't think that using a MIAW would work? From what I can gather,
you can't use MIAW in Shockwave on the web..?
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Adam,
I'm always jumping to the vocab movie and back to whence I came. Since I
don't understand lists very well, I can't wrap my mind around part of your
suggestion: When I jump back, where does the script go in a Frame Script
under the marker? Did I script the the script on the back button fro
I am working on my first CBT and am having to create some (in my mind)
complicated code. I have developed a solution that kinda, sorta works but am
hoping that some of you can suggest a more elegant and easier way to do
this. Please bear with me as this is hard to explain:

Hi,
I'm working on a kiosk built in Director 8 that will be running 24/7 on a

I've got the screensaver working fine in CineMac but I have a big proble
Yes,
That's correct. It will play on a computer and is just used for archiving
the kiosk. Do you recommend any particular DVD-rom burner?

Hi,
I have been authoring a digital kiosk in Director 8 MacIntosh version and my

I do not have the slightest idea on how to do this. Is there an xtra needed
