Or you can 'tell' the MIAW to execute a movie script handler. If the script
is in the MIAW it can successfully reference its own internal members. Or,

Its old (pre-behaviour versions of Director) and its version of OOPs in

Your startMovie handler stops when the movie starts, if that makes sense.
You need some mechanism to keep things happening.

Hello List!
In a startMovie handler I am creating a complete movie from scratch, i. e.
cast members are created, bitmap files imported, sprites created, scripts
attached, and so on. All works well, but at the end of the startMovie

Try Gary Rosenzweig's book on Director 8. I can't remember the title off
the top of my head (and my copy is 2,500 miles away), but you can find it
on Amazon just by searching on his name.

Just be sure at least a corner of the property inspector is on-screen. You
get all sorts of weird behavior if you just close it down--windows don't

I finally figured the problem. The movie had just a two frame sequence

The way that I get values from text fields in MUI is kind of kludgy, but it
works. In my callback handler, I scan for the element number of the editable

I would check out the lingo command 'sound playFile'.
Not only would this reduce the size of your .dir file but also (and perhaps
more importantly) the amount of RAM needed to play the sounds.
cheers

I have long excel file to import into v12 database. I have 8 fields, but the

What I said was Mac OS 9 won't allow you to create a partition in any
version of Toast other that 4.1.1 (the latest version). If you're using
Toast 4 and have OS 8.x and Toast, then you CAN create a partition.

yes, it works on d7. the 1 bit bitmap must be in the main movie cast, not

vText = "Pranav" & numtochar(13) & numtochar(10) & "Negandhi"
Then write vText into the file
How can you create a linebreak (enterkey?) in a .txt document using FileIO.
