Kerry is right - you can't jump to other frames during the prepareFrame
stage. Additionally I've had problems in frame hopping on mouseDown and

Hi Ken,

DirectEmail Xtra will do that, http://www.directxtras.com/index.htm
You'd have to pay for it (I did), and it's worth it.

Hi guys
Just a small wierd problem I've made a presentation on a mac with 7.0. I
imported some quicktime movies. These movies are linked to external files.
When I burn up a CD it works fine on the mac but the PC asks me to locate
the files - it can't find them, even though they are in the same

I don't think you can go to a frame from a prepareFrame handler. You might
set a flag instead, and go to the quiz on the enterFrame handler.
Cordially,

I'm trying to trace something strange here; I've got a sprite that has
both a mousedown script as well as a prepareframe script that checks if a
certain key is down. If either mousedown of the keydown is fired it does a
'sendsprite' message.
The sprite that gets the sendsprite message checks som

thanks al,
I obviosly had difficulty seraching maricopa. Perhaps it is because it is
such a poorly designed site!
It would be nice if the owners could rebuild it with a more clear layout.
But thanks for redirecting me, now at least I know where to find the search

Good show, Mitesh!
I'd just add that Buddy is free if you use only 2 functions, and you can
change the resolution with only 2 functions.

Hey all -
Built an application for an e-Learning gig - and of course over a dedicated
connection it's fine (regardless of all these proxyserver problems I've had
with authentication) but if the user is using a dialup then of course the
connection gets lost/dropped.

Hello everyone! I've perused the news groups for some time and have finally
settled into a full time profession with Director.
Now that I have a hold of the art, I'm considering taking up residence
somewhere where I can get hooked up with a real Director/Shockwave team.

I have absolutely no idea about how to use Arrays created in
VisualBasic or about using ActiveX controls to bring them in to
Director. However, if you want to create and manipulate
multi-dimensional arrays purely in Lingo, there are two articles you
may want to read at the Director On-Line Us

It looks to me like your tempImage is only one menu item tall. Try
making it five times taller.

Hi guys,
I'm totally stumped... :(
The following handler is supposed to copy a bunch of rectangles (from the
"menu item" cast member) one after the other, into a single pixel cast
member. Right now, it only copies one of them (or all of them into the same
rectangle area, I don't know...)

If you still desire the effect of getting a gradual lowering or increasing
of the volume, then I suggest you make a little modification to your
methodology.

Thanks for all your help. I found that the updateStage is not working, but
as I have it right now, where the volume will lower and increase every time
you click the button is fine with the client. Thank you all for all your help.

Hi Tab,
Your script returns 375.10 with 10 as the itemWeight parameter.
Perhaps, you miss '=' operator (meaning less than or EQUAL) in your
