I had a number of mpgs I wanted to import into director on the pc side of
a crossplatform cd-rom.
Use the excellent Direct media Xtra wich help to control and play any kind
of video without hassle.
The other solution is to convert your mpg to MS mpeg4 avi files.

I found much less troublessome to initiate the video member source before
playing the video sprite. I got many crashes when attempting to switch a
video actually playing. Try to just exit the frame, switch the file and
return to the frame. Works fast flawlessly for me.

No workaround it seems. Maybe that Broadcast VHS decks can strip the SCMS
code as pro Digital Audio deck can? If not, you will have to go to the
source.

If i were you, i would convert it in avi or QT format. There is a couple of
excellent freeware utilities do to it : IsoBuster and SmartRipper.

. The quality/size ratio with MS mpeg4 codec is blazing IMHO, and much,
much superior to what i get with the standard Sorenson codec (admitedly, i
don't have Media cleaner pro), or with mpg codec. Indeo (version 5) is also
to look at in the PC world.

I had better luck in the past when creating 32 bit alpha with Fireworks than
with Photoshop. Did you try it?. I have used many png exteranl files without

You could maintain a linear list of visited pages, like a browser's
history, and use it as a stack to go back and forward. Look up Lists.

I have some trouble with a movie imported as a cast member and used as a
congigurable search menu.
It performs correctly for all the features needed (navigation and field
searching) except two:
- pointer do not change on rollover
- user editable fields are no more editable.
These works ok when
a Powerpoint show is a stand alone executable, so no program opens it.
Not really. A Power Point show has a pps or ppt file extension. You must to
distribute Ppview32.exe with a presentation to make sure that the user can
actually view it if he don't have Power Point installed.
