I have all the fixes applied from the Release Notes. That is why I went to
RSU 0601 on VM and TCPIP. The guest does show up on Q VSWITCH DET with the
correct ip address. The VSWCTL1 log shows the E005 (IP address already
registered) error. This looks like a SLES9 error, but SLES9 would continue
The SLES9 guest is down when I am trying to install SLES10, and the SLES10
guest is the only one trying to use the IP address at that time. (I only
brought up the SLES9 guest to make sure somebody could use that ip
address.)
The parmfile for the SLES10 guest contains the following to define the

I had a similar situation when installing Redhat AS 4. Similar, but
still a bit different, perhaps the solution is common to both.
On the Redhat installation, I'm able to use the VSWITCHes just fine to
install the base software. I have no problem starting ssh and VNC to
address the installation

I don't have experience using an LVM volume for the guestvol.
But I'd think your script (or something that runs before it) has to do
commands vgscan and vgchange -a y in order to discover and make the LVM
guestvol available.

Hy guys,
does there anybody have any expiriance with the basevol guestvol
configuration while the guestvol is on a logical volume?
I followed the redbook "large scale linux deployment", but is looks to me
that when the bind-mount happens (first thing that init does) the logical
volume is not avail
