Hello!
I understand the idea behind asymmetrical routing, (Thank you Harold!), but
for the folks who are rather new to the ideas behind how Linux does his
routing, would one of you carefully reiterate the whole concept?
Oh and while I am at it, Zach, would you explain what prompted your
suggestion
I've done some further reading on the topic of asymmetrical routing,
and I'm wondering if I should set up two routing tables (one for each
interface). Any suggestions?

Side note (not the cause of this problem): DNS is important if you're
going to use the REXEC server and client. IP addresses change frequently

Hi,

Just to affirm that this is the (a?) proper direction, we have a set of
filesystems built on 3390 DASD that is just over 600 gigabytes. Originally,
it was built entirely with 3390 mod 3 disks, but is now on mod 27.
The other nice thing about LVM is that you can add a new disk, and mark an
old one
Mark,
Thanks for the response - we were able to add a directory opt/something
and get by! We don't have anything like LVM set up yet but if we
proceed with this project, sounds like we should do something like that.
I'm sure you'll be hearing more questions from us in the future :)

LVM would be the way to go if this system continues to grow. But if you

Did you use LVM to design the system for future expansion? Or, did you just

something like LVM?
The ideal situation for fixed / limited size disks (IMHO) is to use LVM and
create a volume group, for the single mount or for a set o
Hello, all, we're testing Novell SLES9 SP3 under VM 5.3.
We have a real shortage of disk space in our test system and the guy

of his /opt directory. I can give him another 3390 mod3, but I don't

Hello Betsie,
I see now that Veritas is Symantec (makers of ESM). I wonder how that

Hi,
Is anyone running a NetBackup client on RHEL AS 4? What version,
please? Is the bp executable a 64-bit or 32-bit executable?
I installed NetBackup-IBzSeriesLinux2.4.21 6.0.When trying to run
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bp, I get an error message that a shared
library could not be loaded.
I have had loads of trouble on my laptop with talking through my
WPA-protected wireless router at home. WEP worked fine, but WPA has
been a royal pain. I finally got it running using a couple of
wpa-supplicant commands, but it still drops out frequently. I can boot
the same laptop on XP and all

You're going to have to explain that one a little. I don't know what you mean.

This probably should also hold for the default services that get started.
