Hello Mark, the issue is solved. We included information for SLES10 into autoyast.xml. There seems to be a change at SLES 11. We had to remove all storage related modules form . Now we simply add vmcp and vmur as modules to our initrd. Kind regards, Tobias Doerkes.

I have run into similar problems many times. The Linux system stops because it cannot find the proper files in /etc/fstab. I usually boot my recovery system, mount the root file system, chroot to it, change /etc/zipl.conf to add the missing DASD devices and then run zipl. A reboot should be fine.
