I am using a USB keyboard on a arm system running kernel 2.6.11. I want
to set the keyboard repeat rate and wonder how this can be done? Are
there some application that can be used?

Hi,
I am using lilo for a multiple boot system.
If I plug my keyboard into an USB port instead of the PS/2 port I can only
boot into the system which is set as default. Lilo will not show the other
boot systems.
The same if I boot from a live CD and keyboard is plugged into USB port it

I have just installed AbiWord to my modified Slackware system.
Everything is working fine, EXCEPT the letters/numbers on the
keyboard. When I press a letter/number key nothing happens.
All the other keys work: Space, Backspace, Home, End, UpArrow,
DownArrow, LeftArrow, RightArrow, keys, PageUp
Ok, I seem to have fixed the problem, It appears that there is an issue
with my KVM, when I plug a spare keyboard directly into the PC the problem
goes away. I suspect its something to do with the keep-alive signaling
from the KVM. So if anyone else has the same problem then try
disconnecting
Hi,
I'm having a slight problem with an installation of Mandrake on a Dell
Lattiude GX50. Everything is fine until I logout. After that I loose all
keyboard entry under X (Currently Xfree4 with HW accel.). There are no
problems using the mouse, and the keyboard still responds to caps-loc
d.
Its a thing i have personaly have never had an issue with.
But then i dont use dri.

The question still remains unsolved: why only in RH7.3 and not in RH7.2

On the keyboard freeze, I was one that complained about it a month or
two ago. Irregular freezes every few hours or few days forced dirtry
RESETs to escape. MOre often than not the freeze also included the mouse.
My nVidia card had a manufacturing flaw (heat sink adhesive), and so I
obtained a

Several months ago when I changed from RH7.2 to RH7.3 the keyboard would
freeze when trying to open certain games like tuxracer or invoking some
screensavers or doing 'blank screen now' in screensaver window.

Several months ago I upgraded to RH7.3 from RH7.2 and got then bad keyboard
lock-ups when trying to play games or when the sreensaver would switch to
blank screen. The problem could not be resolved on this forum and I had to
install RH7.2 again. (What is Linux w/o its screensavers?)

sure how to get
character codes from
//this buffer. Get the source to showkey to
find this.
read(handle, buffer, 128);
close(handle);
Make sure you allow some way of quitting if
you do this - putting the keyboard into raw
mode disables console switching, Ctrl-C, etc.

Hi,
I am not sure how you would do it in C++. But, you could write
an assembly routine(or a function in assembly language using the
'asm' keyword) to trap a keypress. I think, the interrupt you
need to use is INT 09 (Intel platform-specific).
Anyone has a better solution ?

Hi
I am trying to write some code that involves measuring how long a key is
pressed.
These keystrokes may be brief (<55ms) or up to 1.5s
and dont seam to do this.
It is not important which key is used.
Can anyone help this C++ beginner?
