OK, Now I really go mad:
I've got the descructive problem of mkraid going to abort without leaving any
hints in syslog / mdstat..
I'm working with the linux 2.2.6 kernel AND did the patch
raid0145-19990421-2.2.6 AND have raid-0.90-19990421-2.2.6 installed
I couldn't find any other hints in
What setup ?
How big are the partitions ?
Raid level 1, partitions of 710Meg
further more I hacked trough the code and came to the conclusion that it
crashed on (yes, it's true) -- /dev/md0: Invalid Argument
And again: modules are loaded, patch is loaded, using 0.90 and 2.2.6

Maybe I missed a thread on this a month ago when the press releases hit,
but does anybody know if work is being done to produce Linux drivers for
Adaptec's Ultra2 RAID series of controllers? The single-channel flavor
is selling at a fraction the cost of other similar LVDS RAID

Title: RAID 1 and RH 6.0
I am considering using RH 6.0 to replace a few of my NT file servers, but I do have heavy reservations about using this OS because of the difficulty I am having in setting up RAID 1 with my test system. If someone could please answer a few questions, I would be deeply
Hi,
I've tried to build a RAID0 system in the last days. But there is a
problem that I don't understand.
These are the information about the system:
- PII/400
- 128 MB Ram
- 4.3 GB IDE for system/user etc
- 2 x 9.1 GB UW-SCSI to build an 18GB file server with RAID0

Are there any significant differences with either performance or
reliability of raid 0 with the latest patches vs. the raid support in
vanilla 2.2.9?
Most of the discussion of improvements I've been able to see from lurking
here and searching through the archive deal with raid levels 1, 4, and
Hi all,
I am rather new to raid, and SCSI in general actually. a local computer
retailer is selling an adaptec PCI 3970 dual u2w raid controler and I am
wondering how difficult this is to setup with Linux. I found no reference
to Adaptec raid in the raid-howto so am hoping someone here will
1. I have two versions of a Software-RAID HOWTO on my system which are
totally different in their scope.
There were essentially two versions of raid - that which worked with the 2.0
Linux kernel and the news stuff that works with the 2.1/2.2 series kernel.

indeed...
2.2.9-ac1 doesn't sync either. neither does 2.2.7-ac4. Something must
