checks the magic number), mkraid complains: /dev/md0: Invalid argument.
Does MD work on 2.4.0-test1? Am I using the right tools? Is there
someting I am missing?

Read the ReiserFS README. It does not work with RAID 5.
Erik.
ide patch.
BP6 boards are having trouble in all respects. Read linux-kernel for
more
horror stories. RAID is not the problem, works great with SMP. BP6 not
so.

Hi
I heard about problems with the alpha-raid-patch for 2.2.11 and kernel
2.2.14? I know that there is a new patch for 2.2.14 existing, but I do
not got the URL. Can you help me?
to
understand it. The emphasis is on promoting Linux and s/w RAID to a
generally
hostile audience.

That's exactly what I wanted to know.
Can't wait to try it out,
6 on your controller. If so, I really wanna know how to do that, so
I can enable SMP again.
Thanks in advance,

I've never been canoeing before, but I imagine there must be ju
, use one 30mb partition as /boot and the
other 3 as swap with same priority.
Thus, boot whith root on raid0, having /boot on non-raid.. it all sounds
alike ;-)

A bug in the code is worth two in the documentation.
x27;s an abit mainboard with 2 onboard controllers: PIIX4 and an
HPT366.
For the second I already ran a patch from the vendor. (currently over
2.2.12)
There are 4 20GB bigfoots connected (ofcourse one on each cable) running
in raid0 with boot on raid.

I was wondering if the obscure SMP - IDE lockups are history by now.
I encountered the bug a few weeks ago on a newly build server and knew it
was there. Anyway, I'd be nice if could use the second processor.
thanx in advance,

For ext3 and various other FS issues, you can mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] He's
the one in charge of many FS
; at all.
Get/compile the latest tools, as mentioned above, and retry. If it still
fails, tell us again :)

Hi,
can I safely set up a loop device corresponding to a file located on a
RAID-5 partition?
Thank you,
