It doesn't say that the game doesn't work, it just says that it trips some sort of cd detection code. I just ran a quick google search and there is a no-cd hack for the game so you may be able to get it working. Is Mechwarrior a bit of an acquired taste? I got an oem copy of Mechwarrior 2 th

Well, a quick check on www.transgaming.com shows mech warrior 2 doesn't work well with winex. Winex is the version of wine that has directx8 and other features that make games play easier. I haven't messed with it much, but it's probably your best bet for windows games on linux. Jim On Monda
