I' haven't used SPD for a little while. It works fine for most things,
however, when I try and do a couple of things it always crashes. When I
add a custom list form, it crashes, and when I add the fields for a

Hmm. I am the elusive Terry Walsh and I had assumed that the posters were
return receipting and everyone, once read was receiving their own return
receipt.
I haven't set anything special - will take a closer look.

Hi Craig.
Have you applied Office SP1 to SPD? If not, i'd start with that as it (in my
case) has improved performance and reliability. Error code 1000 is a standard
code for an application ending enexpectedly, here it the MSFT TechNet help -

To be honest, I’m not a fan of this solution of installing WSS on Vista, I mean
WHY would you do it, it’s nothing like the environment your deploying to or
even developing against.
The only use I can see if for developing quick web parts without the over head

made SharePoint installable on XP and Vista which would have made life much
easier for SharePoint developers.

Im now using wss3 at home to organize my personal documents like a filing
cabinet. It could be useful for this I guess. People wont need to worry about a
server license etc

Well, the only reason I can see for this is because I can’t install a server on
my laptop (lack of drivers) and having WSS running on my vista would mean that
I can develop and demo faster (no need for a vpc to drink my RAM and CPU – not
to mention that having a VPC running interferes with my Bl
You do NOT have a license to WSS 3.0 if you are not running server. Period.
"downloadable" does not equal "free for all use".
I would say that MS would (likely) never go after people using it purely for
dev purposes, which is the only real reason I'd see for it.
