A ramdisk is a virtual disk created on you computers Ram that behaves like a
physical drive. (did I get that right?)
That's how I understand it anyway.

Marc,
Great idea on the CHIPID stuff.
Would you please send me (privately) the rc.setupx and lts.conf files ?
Also, I've been wanting to add grouping support to the getltscfg program,
I just haven't had the time.
Thanks,

Hi all. Having a brain fart here getting "/lib/modules: no such file

Tried creating one and placed agpgart.o in that same path, but it did not
help. We are using RedHat 6.2 and LTSP 2.07. Have MODULE_01 = agpgart.o.

Hi,
To support the ATI Xpert2000Pro (r128 based), this is what I had to do:
Add a new config. variable X4_CHIPID in lts.conf:
X4_CHIPID = 0x5246
Modify rc.setupx, under the BUSID section, add a similar section for
CHIPID,
but the generated line must not have quotes, for example:
ChipID = 0x52

Marc,
what did you specify for your init= in loadlin ?
When I tag a kernel, I use the following:
mknbi-linux --output=vmlinuz.ltsp \
--append="init=/linuxrc rw" \
--rootdir="/dev/ram0"\

Hi,
Did you tagged your kernel with mknbi-linux again, with the new root
directory option(--rootdir=/home/tftpboot/lts/ltsroot/) ? If you are using
the old kernel, it will try to mount the old dir.
You can retag your kernel , or make a simbolic link (more dirty).
Hope it helps
Marc,
Can you show us more of the messages ?
there may be something that will give us a clue as to the problem.
Thanks,

You might want to say root=/dev/ram0
That is what I do when I use mknbi-linux to setup the kernel

How to shutdown or reboot a LTSP workstation ? As there is nothing on it, maybe

I think it depends on how many users you want to support. I haven't looked
into the costs that closely. A friend of mine was saying about U.S. $700,
but I don't know what you get for that.

It's cheaper than the comparative Citrix product, but still quite expensive.
That's of course a relative thing, all dependent on what you are used to
paying for software licenses. Look for resellers on their web page.
hi,
i am not sure, but i think the problem is that you are running a secure tftp
( -s option ).
it sets the tftp in chrooted enviremont. so you can´t access /tftpboot/ .
try it without -s in your inetd.conf or with a path relative to /tftpboot ,
/bzImage for example.
perhaps that will help. good

For those of you who have to provide access to Windows applications from

access Windows apps from any platform.
