I'd like to see your XF86Config-4.sis6205 file.
Keep in mind, that when you specify an XF86Config file, it doesn't use
any of
the other X settins in the lts.conf file. At least X 4 works that way,
because the
Xserver driver is specified inside the XF86Config file.

in XFree86 4.x. But you can still use the same with the vesa driver provided

RPMS will come at a later time, i'm not sure when.
installing from the tgz files is not hard, and if you really want to
run local apps, that is what you will need to do.

If tftpd and xinetd are configured properly, you should see
