Hi Jason,
What ltsp release are you running? I ask this because I had the exaclty
same problem as you with the 3.0.0 and Debian 3.0. I then tryed after some
time the 3.0.1 and worked withouth a glitch. Before that, I used to copy
my entire /usr/lib/X11 directory from the server to the /opt
Tom,
I don't know what the 'HOME' option is in lts.conf. I
certainly didn't create that option.
And, home directories are based on whatever is in
the /etc/passwd file for that user.

I noticed when I was doing the install last night that I do not have
the local apps package installed.
But I did enable the HOME option in the lts.conf file.
I'm not really sure what that did, other than enable my existing
home directories for me. If I didn't do this, what would my HOME

Michel,
If you want to turn off the sound of the bell, try
the setterm command.
I think that:setterm -blength 0
will turn it off.
Check the manpage for more info.

I found my way with Xterm with the bell visible or sounded.
But unable to find .inputrc in my Linux box.

Rob,
What about:
SOUND
SOUND_DAEMON
Do you have those set in your lts.conf file ?

I have been attempting to get the ltsp sound working on my clients for many
months with no success. My latest attempt involves the 3.0.1 tgz package. I
have a server running RedHat 7.3.
I noticed that the required libraries do not seem to exist in useable
locations or forms. Can anyone make s

A much easier question this time
In my .xinitrc, I want to check for the existance of a touch calibration
file '/etc/touch.dat'
If it doesn't exist, I want to run 'mmmcalibrate', otherwise skip cal'.

Michel,
Are you talking about using X windows, or do you just
want a char telnet session ?
If you don't want X, then you just need to set
RUNLEVEL = 4
and take a look at the lts.conf.readme file for the other
parameters for specifying the machine you want to connect to.

I need to place a script so that when a user
login in bash
it is immediately telnet to an SCO
server.
Where do I place this script and what do I have to
modify to
to get it work in LTSP
This script I think should
look as:
-
telnet 192.168.0.200
Chris,
That sounds like the ltsp_autofs-0.1.tar.gz package from
Robbie Stanford. It may also be the ltsp_samba pkg.
It's on the LTSP download page, near the bottom in
Robbie's section.

Hi Brian, hi list,
For kdm, there is even more than just *some* background. If you don't
mind transferring some data over the net, you can use xearth as login
background, updating as fast as 1frame/minute (that can strike a
10MBit BNC net, if all the clients do it in the same second :-) or
