Dillip,
It looks like you are using a kernel package from a much
older version of ltsp.
What you should do is take a look at
http://www.LTSP.org/instructions-3.0.html
for the packages and simple instructions for getting
LTSP installed.

Hi Jason,
Is there any difference on drag/drop? At the moment, using gnome desktop

the only thing that icewm-default does less then icewm-gnome, only cause
icewm-gnome has bindings that integrate it with gnome.
I run icewm-default for my desktops, non ltsp, cause it is very worth it

I have set that up and it works well except for one thing: the icewm-gnome rpm
package will not install due to library conflicts.
The icewm-default package is OK though.
icewm-gnome goes fine on another RH7.3 server of

Just spoke to Brooke Selby at IDG. She remains enthusiastic about our offer
install a LTSP network in the LinuxWorld press room. Brooke says the press
likes community involvement stories and is likely to cover the project from
those angles.

Jeff,
Yes, in fact I forgot about the fact that the kernels
were separate on 2.08. You will need the kernel for
the rtl8139. That should work, but i've not tried it
myself with the Jammin-125.

So one of the kernels under the 3.0 section should work? Will one of those

Hi Pedro,
If you referring to changing the X_MODE_0 line to:
X_MODE_0 = 800x600 40 800 840 968 1056 600 601 605 628 +hsync +vsync
I tried this, but get the same result - 1024x768.
Thanks again,

Thanks again. I have got much further with your help.
First, I can do rsh to the ltsp client from another workstation. I
suppose you have to have a dameon running on the client for that to
work.
Second, would there be a way to make the mount folder available on the
ltsp server?
Could nfs be used?
Is anyone using RedHat 8.0 with LTSP? or is that possible yet? Jerome E.

Paul,
How much memory do you have in the LTSP workstation ?
You might try setting 'USE_NSF_SWAP = Y' and see what
effect that has.

Jeff,
Probably the easiest way to handle that is to
grab the XF86_5530.gz package from the ltsp download
page. That is the XFree86 3.3.6 Xserver that works
for the Jammin-125. Also, grab the Jammin-125-Modelines.txt
file too.
That should be all you need to get the Jammin-125 to work with

I have a client with a 3com509 ISA NIC. As it

it then gets to 'making a DHCP request' and times

Do this. Boot Thin Client in Run Level 3

XSERVER= auto
LOCAL_APPS = N
USE_NFS_SWAP = N
SWAPFILE_SIZE = 128m

then do this

Installed a fresh copy of ltsp on a server that I'm running a bunch of
ThinkNICs against. I've installed and am using the Xvesa driver for the
video. While the video runs fine at 1024x768, adding a 'X_MODE_0 =

Gaganan,
The install scripts won't work properly, but you can
un-tar the .tgz files and place the i386 stuff in
the proper place. Then, you'll have to configure
the services, such as tftp, dhcp, nfs and xdmcp.
Then, you should have no problem serving x86 clients
