I installed the new K12LTSP 4.2 on a DELL 2850. The install completed
without a hitch. When I rebooted the server, it hangs on "Enabling Swap
Space". I tried rebooting with no success. Any suggestions as to how do
I troubleshoot this problem?

I downloaded what I thought was the latest version of LTSP recently,
but /version indicates I have 4.0.1. Did I make a mistake? Did someone
neglect to bump the version number?
Anyway, I've been starting from this "4.0.1" version, and working on

I've been futzing with LTSP a bit on two different machines.
On both, I'm getting strange video.
On one of them, I can't seem to get high resolutions (1280x1024) without
getting weird blank lines - it's almost as though the video is
interlaced, but half the lines aren't being refreshed. This ma
OpenMosix would be a different approach. My understanding is that it
migrates processes automagically as needed to maintain even load
between multiple servers.
Though, it seems that SSH should work fine if they are all on the same
local network.
I just ran this command on my ltsp server and

I just bought a VIA EPIA-VE 5000A for my main thin client and it works

That's ok, thanks for the tip.
One thing I found is that if I run 1280x1024, I can't seem to get
Hi Horst,
No, no ROM socket. They have PXE built in. For setup see the section
Ok, that will do.
That depends. If you/your users need a floppy/fast USB it makes
Just in case there's no boot ROM. But PXE will be ok, so I think I'll be
ok without one.

Sound is discussed on the wiki: http://wiki.ltsp.org/twiki/bin/view/Ltsp/Sound
ltspadmin can be used to load whatever else is required. For me, sound continues to be one of the trickier aspects of LTSP to get working properly.

We've been running some version of 2.6.x since last summer. I've used

Anyone had any success with a linux 2.6 kernel as an application server?
