Hi,
I don't use Xubuntu, I use CentOS.
My dhcp server uses:
option root-path "192.168.0.1:/opt/ltsp/i386";
next-server 192.168.0.1;
filename"/ltsp/i386/pxelinux.0";
I also suggest to check TFTP_DIRS variable enclosed
in /etc/ltsp/ltsp-server-conf.
Best regards,
Radek

ltsp-server-standalone and removed the isc-dhcp service because i want to
use an external dhcp.
On my Suse Enterprise Server is an ISC-DHCP Server already installed. In
the DHCP-Options i set:
root-path "10.0.2.128:/opt/lt
Thanks for the info. I just told him to install ltsp-server on his
home machine, and then run ltsp-build-client to create the image. When
he finishes, he can bring it in on a flash drive and I can copy it
over.

You can give them an Ubuntu installation in e.g. a VirtualBox VM,
and when they're done, install ltsp-client in it, loop-mount it with
vdfuse, and run
ltsp-update-image -c /path/to/mounted/vm/disk
