This was indeed the problem, and it now boots just fine. Having trouble

Hi There,
I have installed LTSP v4.1.1 on a Mandrake 10.2 server. I am trying to
boot my laptop from it, but am not getting much love. The laptop uses
the 'eepro100' driver. An 'lspci' gives me the following information
about the card:

If it is possible to use "local" devices when "local apps" is enabled, is
there anything special that needs to be done, other than making sure the

Greetings, all.
I was wondring if anyone here has encountered the problem where the diskless
client gets to where it says "running dhclient" and "Mounting root
filesystem from /opt/ltsp/i386 from 192.168.1.254" and then it just hangs?
Thanx!

But 2.09pre3 will still work without the NIC= line in dhcpd.conf, as long as
the NIC is compiled into the kernel, correct?

hough I have a slackware.sh script (made

Maybe once I have it working on Slack, I'll turn my attention a little

If anyone out there 8has* got Slackware to work with LTSP, I'd love to hear
from you, to see if there are any pitfalls I should look our for.

If you're worried about resource usage on the LTSP server, and don't really
need a "desktop", then I definately think FVWM2 is the way to go. If you
have programs that you want "instant" access to, then you can either create
an "app-launcher", or even use FVWM95, which has a taskbar, and I believ
created from xf86config for my i810 card (i.e., just using the file it
outputs, with *no* modifications), but it still didn't work :-(.
I've attached my XF86Config file; maybe someone here with sharoer eyes than

At the very least, if this isn't the solution to your problem it should
