More later though it may be this afternoon (eastern)
before I return.

Thanks for your response, Peter...
Correct, no mount message.
/etc/exports is correct with no space.
Both machines have booted successfully in windows and
attached to the server through Samba as late as
yesterday.
This is why it's so frustrating. I know that I can
boot windows and attach to the ser
root group, and 777
security.
However, I never get to a login prompt so the client
and my server have no idea who is trying to get in!
Both boot from floppies one is on 5.2.2 and the other
is on 5.2.4 and the NIC's are recognized.

A little more...
I went into /opt/ltsp/i38/etc and looked at fstab
which was/is empty. There is a hosts (file) but gedit
can't find it. There is no hosts.allow. There also are
not many subdirectories. Is all this correct or have I
found something?

Hi,
I have continued to check out everything I can
think of to get the system to mount.
I went into dhcp and lts and changed the address
to 192.168.0.254 thinking something would fail sooner.
No such luck, it runs fine and then still stops at
mount.
I keep thinking that there must be
with it.

Well, it isn't the workstation. Using another NIC,
another ws002, etc., the same condition occurs.
Everything runs find until the process goes to mount
the filesystem from the server and there it sits!
Obviously, the problem is on the server!
I have checked iptables - all accept.
Both workstations

I"ve gone through the documentation and can't find
anything that doesn't match. I'm now over my head.
Thanks for help,
