Yep, I had to do the same thing.

As to when others use my system, they had better not be using it under
my login. When they log in with their own user ID, they get their own
preferences and there is no problem (other than moving the mouse to the
other side of the keyboard).

Yep, in rc.sound. My command line is now:
/bin/esd -nobeeps -tcp -port 16001 -public -as 1 &

I found the solution. I was having the same problem on Fedora Core 5. It
appears that esd is not reading the ESD_SPAWN_OPTIONS variable. I
noticed that if you do an nmap of your terminal, port 16001 is closed. I
added "-public"
put
one on each client that was having the problem. It seems to be a timing
issue in the kernel and adding the switch adds enough delay to make
things work (purely a guess).

ltsp-server-pkg-fedora-0.1-1.i386.rpm was released. I would much rather
have ltsp-server-pkg-fedora-0.1-1.src.rpm. Where is that located?

Where is the source RPM for ltsp-server-pkg-fedora-0.1-1.i386.rpm? I ask
because I need to compile it for an x86-64 system.

there is the recently released LTSP 4.2.
Can you please your file names and web page. You have 2.4 all over the
place. This stuff can be confusing enough without using the wrong
version number.

case, I changed none of the networking hardware, nor any of the
servers. I installed LTSP 4.2 and the problems started.
I just ordered a 3Com 3c905C card to see if that would fix the problem.
Looks like it won't.
