Hi,
we have a client, that stops booting after it got all information from the
dhcp-server. Hitting ctrl-alt-delete produces these messages:

Please help!
I have a k12LTSP server system with NIC terminals at our school, or at least
I hope we will someday. The clients finds the server alright, but will not
load a GUI. It appears that it makes repeated attempts because the client
retries to load the GUI even after I shut xwindows down wit

Hi Everybody
I've installed LTSP 3.0 on Suse 8.0 , when booring the workstation i'm
getting something like this:
Loading 10.1.1.102: /lts/vmlinuz-2.4.19-ltsp-1 than nothing
happens. Which means DHCP works fine but the client can't load the
kernel. This is how the kernel looks like in /tft
Good, we have pinpointed your problem down to
dhcpd.conf client configuration, the no prompt repply

dhcpd.conf entry is like this, so read the doc and
finnish the installation process ;):

So far it seems the problem is with the TFTP. If the kernel actually
got to the client and began to run, you would see something like
"Uncompressing Linux...". While you are trying to boot the client, try
running "tail -f /var/log/messages" (I think?) on the server and watch
it for errors. It mi
I tried LTSP a couple of weeks ago on a system at home. I had the same result
that you are having. After reviewing all the config files many times and not
finding any errors, I decided to test another computer. The other computer

Hi Jack,
I think some of the tread didn't got to the list. But my problem is that
my clients don't boot up.
The client gets in contact with the server and gets an IP address, but
after that nothing happens.
On the client it looks like this:
Me: 192.168.0.249
Server 192.168.0.4
Gateway 192.168.0.1

If I use this grep vmlinuz /etc/dhcpd.conf I get this:
filename "/lts/vmlinuz-2.4.19-ltsp-1";
#filename "/lts/vmlinuz-2.4.19-ltsp-1";

I think he missed a word, try this one:
grep vmlinuz /etc/dhcpd.conf
If you type "grep something", you are asking grep to wait for a file to
be input from "standard input" and look for the word "something". That
is why it seemed to get stuck; it is waiting for a file to be inputted
because no fil

If I run grep server_args /etc/xinetd.d/tftp I get:
server_args = -s /tftpboot
as you say.

the command
grep server_args /etc/xinetd.d/tftp
should answer
server_args = -s /tftpboot
and
grep /etc/dhcpd.conf
should answer something SIMILAR to this as many times
as you have set up propper workstations:

Hi,
In this weekend I have tried to install LTSP, but I can't get it right.
When I power up my client (Jammin 125) I get this messages:
me: 192.168.0.249
server: 192.168.0.4
gateway: 192.168.0.1
loading 192.168.0.4:/tftpboot/kernel
After this nothing happens :-)
My dhcpd.conf look like this

I try to set CONFIG_PCI_DIRECT before I download the floppy boot image,
but nothing more happened.

Appologies.
As you asked, this error came from a box running RedHat 7.2 with the
latest RedHat RPMs (in this case, the one that ships on the CD). Its

I use Linux from Scratch at home, and have had to set the -vv flag before
to get more information.

When asking a question on these lists, it is best to give more
information rather than less. It is also smart to do your own
research b
I've just tried the -v and -vv switches (seperately, not at the same
time), and I'm getting an error:
Feb 13 15:44:43 server in.tftpd[19126]: Usage: in.tftpd [-c] [-l] [-u
user] [-t timeout] [-r option...] [-s] [directory ...]
Feb 13 15:44:43 server in.tftpd[19127]: Usage: in.tftpd [-c] [-l] [-u
You can also add -v or -vv. That will make the logs VERY verbose and
helps in debugging.
