Joseph, The first thing I'd look for is the cards PCI Vendor and Device ID. if you can put the card in a machine and boot linux from a harddisk, then run: lspci -n Look for the lines that say 'Class 0200'. Those are the network cards. See if you get the proper 10ec:8139 value. Also, check

hi i cant enable network boot using my rt8139 card. ive downloaded the zrom file for rt8139(10ec, 8139), put it in my nm27c256 rom, used software to enable the lan card's boot rom and configured bios to boot from network but the non system disk error is still there. ive tested this on 2 lan cards
