This will be optional. NIS will also be supported, so you (as an
administrator) can choose which authentication method you would

Yes, you should be fine. The 2.09pre releases are installed into /opt/ltsp,
whereas the older releases are in /tftpboot/lts.
So, they can both exist at the same time.
