The new version of Skype works good with Lubuntu 12.04 and newer
versions... I have already installed on 12.04, 12.10, 13.04 and I guess
13.10 too. I downloaded the .deb on the website.

I just installed Lubuntu Saucy on a Lenovo 3000 laptop and I'm finding
that touchpad double-tap does not seem to work (Synaptics touchpad).
I've seen a few other complaints on related topics but haven't found
anything that really defines what can be configured on touchpads and how.

No, this doesn't happen with 12.04 artwork.
I changed the theme to Mist and don't get the orange colour selection.
The problem seems to be confined to default Lubuntu theme only.

By the way, if you specify your computer, you can get more precise tips
about a suitable distro, version, flavour or re-spin to install.

That may be the problem. You're using Lubuntu 12.04 with disk-utility (it's
deprecated now for gnome-disks, and they're not the same). Check if this
happens with the standard 12.04 theme. Or you can try upgrade your Lubuntu
to a higher version (sudo update-manager -d) . Everything's working fine

Kris Van Bruwaene,
The same problem with Evince you report is a bug reported here:

Just in case you want to use Evince again; the following *simple*
workaround a little down that same page does work (use it myself):

I very much like Lubuntu and enjoy using it on several PCs at home and at work.
However the PDF viewer Evince does not fit in well with the rest of LXDE. Its
menu is "optimized" for Gnome3, and displays black letters on a black
background :-( . So I wanted to replace it with Atril, a fork of Evi
