If you have the prefrences set to a size in kilobytes and it shows thumbnails
on bigger files that is a bug and should be reported on launchpad.

This does not seem the kind of policy set by people that want to take your
freedom away. I think this is just a first reaction to trying to join freenode

like the idea of captchas on ubuntu one webpage I certainly don't remember them
but we have had an attack of many people signing up for the single sign on and
spamming the wiki with all sorts of advertisements which results in either

secure boot is not turned on by default and you can just install a 64 bit
version of lubuntu right out of the box after you put it together.

On some newer desktops if you want to use headphones or speakers from the
headphone jack it can want to use sound from the hdmi port as default. That is
really the only thing I find hard to do with alsamixer.
