Thanks a lot Leszek for the help.
I managed to fix it.
Problem was with "PulseAudio". I removed it and installed "alsamixergui".
In fact, after removing PulseAudio, I had no sound unless I plug my

It is hard or impossible to install Lubuntu (any Ubuntu desktop flavour)
from the desktop iso with less than 768 MB RAM, even if it works well to
run a live session. Install from the alternate iso :-)

I use Lubuntu successfully on a 450 megahertz, 512 megabyte RAM,
HP-Vectra. It also worked in the past on it when I only had 384
megabytes of RAM.
Yet I use Lubuntu on all of my machines (that are faster and h
I makes me sad, that the Ubuntu guy gave you such an answer :-(
I suggest that you try updating with terminal window commands
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
and when necessary
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Good luck :-)

The subject of the email I sent was: YouTube on Lubuntu 12.04
Please be advised that you are free to write whatever you want but please,
do change the subject so that the thread/chain of emails won't go off-topic

You can start a new thread or at least edi

Hi Aere,
And try this command to find out more about that python command (the
whole command line)
ps -Af |grep python

Maybe it is writing to/from some buffers, probably swapping. Such
activities happen with small RAM, it can take a long time, but if you
patiently wait, it will (often) finish

I suspect you are seeing

Thank you very much for the additional information.
If what you state is indeed the case, it definitely answers my question
as to whether a 450 megahertz machine with 512 megabytes RAM can be
considered a viable minimum system for my users.
And I think the answer is, that it *can't* b
I'm sure that some one, some where would be happy to receive your old

(if it still going), Xenix etc.

You can always install, either an old Linux distribution, or something
like FreeDOS if you know about DOS.
Also you may give Haiku OS a try (former BeOS clone):

Haiku currently only works on x86 systems. Minimum memory required is
128 MB. If compiling Haiku within itself, 1 G
