cc -o metro metro.c
./metro 48
assueming you want MM=48. It may port easily to Mac OS 10.

Dear Lutenists,
Thanks in trying to help me with getting ahold of a volume of "Le Secret =
des Muses" published by the Societe Francaise de Luth. Even though it is =
not available through the Dutch Lute Society (as suggested), I did =
receive kind assistance in my behalf.

Deat Stewart,
Your translation looks fine to me - I don't know where the accent on the à
came from, because, as you say, it makes no sense, all the more so as it

Which is, as far as I can tell, out of catalogue (I was only able to buy two
volumes).
I hope they re publish the whole thing, as it is a very good edition, with a
fairly good price.

Dear Ed,
The Dutch Lute Society publish a facsimile of Vallet's _Le Secret

The French Lute Society have a series of their own publications
called "Le Secret des Muses", of which there are over 20 titles in
stock. It's worth having a look at what is there. The web site is in

Dear Kenneth,
I have knocked together something pretty quickly (see below), which
I hope will help. My French isn't brilliant, so there may be
something I've slipped up on. I wouldn't like to think it's a final
version, and hope that someone else can check it through and make
any necessary emendat
