I'd have to know more about your relationship with Mrs. White to answer

I just today received a wonderful new baroque guitar from an Italian
luthier. Unfortunately they left the neck far too bulky for my hand.
The neck appears to be maple laminated onto another lighter wood.
Do you know of any way short of putting on a new neck to fix the problem?
