Knowing when the absolute first guitar concerto of the
20th century is only of marginal value, but it is
useful to know when interest in the genre re-emerged.
Perhaps more useful - does anyone know when the LATEST
guitar concerto was written in the 19th century? It
would be interesting to see

and his stable of composers, I think it unlikely that the
piece had many other performances or that it was ever orchestrated.

It was the Castelnuovo guitar concerto that Segovia (or his
biographer)
claimed was the first guitar concerto of the 20th century.
It is probably up for debate as to whether Tedesco or Rodrigo wrote the
first guitar concerto of the 20th century. Both were written in early
1939
