A compliment to the developers though - Thank-you for having the emergency
backup... it has saved my bacon every time the crash occurs with no seeming
loss of text. :-)

I am running mandrake 6.5 on a P-200 w/82M ram. I have xforms 0.88.1-5.
I found the file "core" but do not know how to run "gdb" I assume
that I will run it in a terminal? (when I type "gbd" or "man gdb" in a
user terminal, I get 'command not found' or 'no manual entry for gdb")

Okay, here goes. I've recreated the problem while lyx was running in gdb
and here is the output for each time I have created it:
# 1:
[law@localhost law]$ gdb /usr/bin/lyx
GNU gdb 4.18
Copyright 1998 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
GDB is free software, covered by the GNU General Public License,
me nuts having to start lyx so many times. :-(
