Kayvan, this sounds suspiciously like a crash I had a few days back. My system is normally very solid. But like Shawn, I was importing lots of ascii text files, and making similar changes. I use xforms .88 for glibc2.1 on an i86 laptop. For me it was a one time thing, so could have been
