I have just installed Debian 2.0 and recompiled LyX.
The compilation went smoothly, no problems whatever.
However I get a SIGSEGV on starting the new binary.
Here is the output from a gdb backtrace.

I met the same problem. It is even worse: If you try to include the
generated eps-file into a latex document and try to print the
respective dvi-file, you will get an empty figure printed.

On my system (linux 2.0.34/Debian 2), the math panel is ok. I don't
get any error when I click on "close" while one of the math panel
popups is open. Your problem comes maybe from your Xforms library.
