Hi!
I have just started using Lyx for writing my thesis.

delete it, how should I do that?
I tried selecting the figure, but that doesn't work.
Is there a way to get rid of the figure from the document?
Thanks,

Isn't it possible to create some kind of shortcuts for equations?

Also, I'd like to have supplementary math symbols. If the actual
state of affairs could satisfy a-not-mathematician :), it's quite hard for
me to write my thesis without the sign for the set of real numbers. I know
how to do it with ERT, but it's quite ugly. And just imagine those

Aren't these two advices mutually exclusive (i.e., doesn't ae mean OT1 encoding)?

Hi again,
browsing through the archive I found a text where the user used "gmake"
instead of "make". I tried and it worked like a charm.
Sorry for the very candid question, but why?
for reference I compiled lyx on a SunOS 5.7 UltraSparc

Thanks for the help;
The first shows only "Dr" at bottom-left of the graph and the second method
shows on top of the float "Draft[!htp]". They are close to be working. The
perfect way is to show "Draft" over-writen on the figure, not at sides.

Lyx 1.1.6fix1
after i appended a column to the table in my document, and saved it, it
somehow deleted rest of the document after the table. It gives the alert when
it opens, saying that "reading of document is not complete May be the
document is truncated"
I opened the auto backup of the docum

helvet.sty has only one line and it does what JMarc said:

Isn't it the case that the next version of LyX will have the option to compile
with other toolkits, such as GTK? This might solve your problem, but you will
have to wait a bit.
