Given the sorry state of XForms, it is a horrid UI toolkit.
Given the old state of Klyx.
Given my inability to get Tables to work 100% correct in Lyx all the time.
I've decided to dump it all and write raw tex files.
Guess what. It's not hard. No worse t
Hello all,
I have made a Slackware package of the 1.1.6fix4 available online at this URL:
http://www.alphacent.com/opensource/files/lyx-1.1.6fix4-pak.tgz
this package works on Slackware 8.0, just type
"installpkg lyx-1.1.6fix4-pak.tgz", to install it.

Hi
I wanted to install unix binaries here of the latest
lyx release (1.1.6fix4), from
ftp://ftp.lyx.org/pub/lyx/bin/1.1.6fix4/
but rpm stands for
"redhat package manager"
and unless one uses that linux version,
what can be used instead?
I have IRIX 6.5 here on SGIs.
thanks
Frederic

I hope this is not too much of a FAQ!
I normally use LyX under Linux as my main tool for writing. For some reasons I have
also to use a notebook with w95 installed, and i was trying to install LyX in this
notebook. I installed Cygwin and all the other software required, following the very

I tried this, and changed the Margin line to be "Static" instead of
"Right_Address_Box". It did in fact move the address to the left
within LyX, but the DVI rendering is still on the right. Would I have
to change the .cls file that Matej was talking about in order to
change the output?
Thanks,

I suppose it wouldn't work with the older version of the
tocloft? Too bad, now the user is required to have correct
version of packages. Well, not a problem, nobody except

I'm afraid this is LaTeX problem, not directly LyX.. anyway, here it goes.
When I try to LaTeX my document, I get the following two problems:
! LaTeX Error: Command \c@lofdepth already defined.
Or name \end... illegal, see p.192 of the manual.

Hi list,
wanted to install lyx1.1.6fix4-1.i386.rpm, but I always get the
following messages;
tetex-xdvi is needed by lyx-1.1.6fix4-1
tetex-latex is needed (...)
Why didn't I have this problem before with fix3 ?
Thanks for any help
