I have observed the same. But I have observed the same with some other Windows
apps (e.g., VSCode). So I would suspect it is a Windows problem, not a LyX
problem.

scrolling plain-text (revtex4-2, with several sections with math, comments
and LyX note plus an appendix but no figures) documents created by LyX

I have now installed the Liberation Serif font from "1001 Fonts".
Just to note, I don’t believe I ever installed this font manually; I just installed the “texlive-full” package.

Then I thought I should update MikTeX... Last time was in April 2024; there
were a number of updates.
At the end of the update, I was told that the MikTeX console needed to close
down.
When I tried to re-start it, I get
OK... the installer software on Windows suggested I should remove the old
version. The "scary" part of this was whether "removing everything" in the
process includes removing things that makes LyX 2.3.x work...
Anyways, I un-installed LyX 2.4 RC4, and installed LyX 2.4. B

Hi,
the compilation of lyx files is repeatedly interrupted (apparently at random). A window "LyX: Stop command?" appears. Then you can either stop or continue compiling. It is not clear to me when and why this interruption occurs. Its appearance cannot be controlled by me.

I am a newbie to Lyx and I am using the Manchester PhD template on the LyX
website. Before LyX all my figures and text used Calibri font, it would be
great if I could use this in my LyX rendering. I have been on the web and found
several options however the solutions are dependant

LyX (2.3.7) was one of the main apps that I have tested; it appeared to work
well at first glance. But only today I have noticed a couple of issues, mainly
