I'm working on cleaning up the constitution for a student organization,
and it seems that we can never get our Word document entirely
consistent. So I'd like to convert it to LyX.
However, we have headings like "Article I. Purpose and Goals" and
"Section 1. Purpose".

Hello,
I am using Lyx for my thesis (report document class) and need the
section headings unnumbered and aligned flush left. However, section
headings must still appear in the Table of Contents. I used the
following command in the preamble to get rid of the numbers preceding

I had an Open Office document that consisted of nothing but section
headings that ran for several pages. So I translated it to TeX and
imported it to LyX. All of which worked beautifully. But when I print
the document the result is a single page where I can see that the

By default the section heading in Latex are bold. This is fine. In the table of
contents they are written in normal type. Again all this looks good.
However I need to use some math in one of my section headings. If I input it as
normal it appears in the heading in normal (non-bold font). If I

I need some advice about preparing a bibliography. The author wants to
include some section headers within the bibliography something like
this:
*BOOKS ABOUT TREES*
Smith, John. The Life of Trees. New York, Pp. 230-232.
Henson, Tom, Another Book
*BOOKS ABOUT BIRDS*
Book 1
Book 2
etc.

I'm trying to colorize my section headings, and I can't quite get it
right. I've got some LaTeX (below) that's almost it, but the background

Even easier is to simply edit the .lyx file, rather than exporting to
latex. The format is pretty easy to pick up, at least for that sort of

one of these packages seems to cause more problems than they are likely to
