John,
On the old Commodore SX-64s, the cards inside may need to be reseated. Common
issue with them (including mine when I received it from eBay).
See if it helps.

Christopher,
I too have an Epson PX-8 "Geneva". No, they will not run off of the
charging circuit, the batteries must be charged. I picked up two new
battery packs from Star Technology, which seem to work fine.

I have both a PX-8 and a PX-4, and I /believe/ they run straight off power
alone but am not positive.
If you can't get an answer let me know and I can experiment for you, both
are in a box in my room at home easily at hand. They both have ramdisks
attached as well.

I've got one of these too. They are similar to the Mac Portable. They
run off of the rechargable battery, which you can plug in to recharge.
If the builtin rechargables are dead, it's difficult to impossible to
get it to turn on. My PX8 needs to be plugged in overnight, and even
then it isn't rel

That's a shame; there's a pretty good list of diagnostic tests somewhere; I'll
see if I can find it.

Believe me, I know what a "personal" computer was/is. I learned
programming on a CDC-3600 that had 4K of magnetic core memory and a

I still get comments about my M100 at the coffee shop, despite us being a

Thanks Russel, I was on the fence, not sure whether to share or not. I'm
not half as technically minded as some of the users on the list. But I
figured everyone shares the same interesting, using these machines. Be it
making hardware for them, writing programs or simply using them.

That is an interesting story. I found that M100s garner a lot of attention

It's also interesting that there will be one generation, or maybe two,

Random question fellow M100 users,
While I'm sorting out getting my REX to work, I thought I'll look at some
games and wondered if they ever released any text adventure games like Zork?
