I've also found the terminal software can make a difference for me...
I wasn't haveing great luck with Putty or Teraterm at all... (First things I tried with my Win10 laptop)
So I pulled out an old CD and copied Hyperterm to my Wn10 machine, and that worked great (as it used to when I used it
I think I laughed at that way more than I should have. ;-)
Haven't actually used discord yet for anything, but I kind of assumed it was a more modern IRC or something like that...

But if I'd just put it away and waited another batch of months... Who knows...
If you haven't checked your battery and/or replaced it, I'd do that... (or get someone to help you)

Been working on transferring files over serial to my M100's.
I have 2. My original has 8k, 1 key needs work (I have to have a small rubber band on it to work) and there is a horizontal row that is having issues (I thought it was blank, but now (before???) it does appear to be there, just lighter.
I haven't done much gaming on my M100 (and none recently really), but I remember liking a Tetris clone called Tiler. I think I liked it mostly because it fit in the 8k my M100 had. ;-)

Going to do this myself when my batteries show up.
I haven't dug into the M100 to see how easy/difficult desoldering should be, but one thing you might be able to do to make it easier usually is to snip out the battery first, then desolder and remove the remaining terminal pieces.

Thanx for the info on this.

I was thinking about opening it and possibly heating the strip a bit to try to fix it, which is a common known fix for similar issues with the original Gameboy and I have don
