As much as I can tell the Chipmunk from eBay is working with the PCB and cable
that came with the ROM Bank. It is at least acting like it should: Start, looks
for disk, no disk, go to sleep.

cdos on it? Or do you mean a rom in the drive?
If you have an option rom, then it will almost certainly be installed the

supply is around the same current as the M100 PS as the M100 PS will power the
drive, but it will not properly charge the Chipmunk battery. The manual even
