I know that many of you have had strange experiences with QUAD and REX
when used together, especially if you used the OQUAD program.
I have only high praise for the QUAD. It is not only an excellent way to
expand the memory on a Tandy Model 100, it provides four screens of 32K
memory which can

Now that I have my board in for manufacturing, I thought I would post the

Letting the list know that I have found a couple of defects with QUAD V4
which I did 2 years ago. Here's the defects I found.
1) I did not protect the bank switching function adequately. The M100 OS
will periodically write to ports 80h, 82h and 83h wrt the DVI. This can
cause V4 QUAD to change

Ok thanks for the heads up.
I doubt I'm in a position to improve the design, and I already tried to
match the ram chip, so, we'll see what we see when we see it I guess.

Hey Steven, I think I worked up a DigiKey cart to build 3 QUADs, the
version on osh park now.
2 things I'm not sure about:
The text on oshpark says it needs a BAV70, but it looks like there are
footprints for 2 BAV70's on that version of the board. I assume I should I

Hi All,
Has anyone on the list actually built their own QUAD? Up on OSHPARK is the
list of parts needed:
74AC02 (Quad 2 input NOR gate) (SOIC)
74AC74 (dual flip flop) (SOIC)
74AC573 (8 bit latch) (2 sizes supported)
TC551001AFTL-10L (memory) (or equiv)
BAV70 (pair of diodes) (SOT-23)

Ah that makes sense.
Well my components came in and I just built 2 boards. Destroyed 1 with my
grinder before even starting. hah

Yah glad that worked!
One of the issues with Rex is 5V compatibility. That's why the design has
to use old parts..no room for level shifters.
So yes, old flash and old cpld. However both are commonly on ebay.

Bummer indeed. Starting to think the extra half inch would have been worth

well, I put in a design file for fab today; we'll see. identical circuit
