Hi all,
In a moment of rash madness I bought one of these things (for work not personal
use I'm not that nuts) last year. It's one of the 6-bay models. From a data
transfer perspective it is very good but I'm not using it to its optimum.
Is anyone else using one of these things and how have

Hi Kristeen,

I have noticed a few things that make using the share area a little

I guess what I'm wondering is why the settings would have changed just by

Very new to the Mac and looking for some basic help.
If I'm using safari are their basic key strokes I can use for getting around

Hi!
To type in a web address, go into Safari and press command-l. Type in the web
address then press enter.
To find edit fields, buttons, links, and so on, while on any web page, press

Personally I go to quick nav setting s in Voiceover and enable first letter

This is only available from lion onwards I think.
When this is set it is pretty easy to use Safari.
With quick nav on you can jump to

B for button and so on.
Pressing right
Forgot to say that command L will let you type in a web address.
Also Option command F will bring up a Google search field.

Good evening all.
I am trying to help Lewis Crack install Lion after he has wiped the disk

get to the wifi icon with VoiceOver? We've tried VO-M twice, VO-F2
twice, we even looked at the menus, and no where can we find the
Hi Donal
Yes, we use one of these drives on our server. What is it you're having

Hi Gordon,
I'll be honest I've only bothered to unpack it about 2 days ago. I'm trying to
decide how best to configure it to facilitate backing up multiple macs, and
also to enable plenty of space for data storage. Any thoughts?
Thanks as ever,

DVD Remaster or Handbrake should do what you want. Personally I prefer the
former, although it isn't free. I find it more intuitive and it's faster by a
mile. I reckon somebody left the Hand Break on, when they configured

Hi Chris,
Regrettably, the Wi-Fi icon to reinstall lion isn't accessible. It is
accessible under MOuntain Lion line, but that does not help in the current
situation unfortunately. My only suggestion is to get cited help of some kind,
or obtain a wired ethernet connection.

Hi Donal
First, I have to say that I didn't find the Promise Raid utility particularly
helpful in regards accessibility. But if you want loads of space, I suggest
you leave it at its defaults but unless you feel you need additional RAID
options. If yours is still the same as it was when we

Gordon, I'm not even sure there is a USB on it, unless the port on the drive
doubles as both thunderbolt and USB? I'd doubt this but I'm certainly no
expert.
I have it at raid 5 at the minute but I agree 0 is also an option. I presume

No, there's no USB on our new model, sorry about that. I mentioned that
because the first one we bought does have this option. I just looked at the

Hi Diane,
You need to be in a text field -- somewhere you would be typing -- in order to
access the typing mode with the rotor. The easiest way is to start from the
home screen on the iPad and click the home button once so you are in the
