Hello Brenda,
I use an iPhone 5 and the StandScan Pro is a foldable box with interior
lighting and a hole in the centre of the top. You place a smart phone, in my
case the iPhone 5, with its camera pointing down through the hole, and take a
picture of a document that you place in the bottom of
I'm not sure, to be exact. Seems I scanned everywhere on the box or bottle
or dan that I might have tried and no go. I just couldn't do it.
Does the camera click to take a picture like it does with tap tap see?
Take care,
Brenda

Hi Brenda,
I wonder if your difficulties with Red Laser were that maybe you did not
scan in the right area of the item?
I have found it to find the barcodes better than DigitEyes.

Do any of these work on the iPhone5? Because you have a stand alone scanner,
right? I'm a bit confused, so pardon me here. This is basically all new to
me here.
I could not get Red Laser to work at all on anything.
Take care and thanks. I'm keeping hold of this.

Hellow,
I did set up a voiceover activity, but can't remember the settings offhand.
Something to do with the cursor and the insersion point though.

Hi all,
I'm Christian from Munich and I've subscribed to this helpfull list some days
ago. I'm using a Mac Book 13" from 2011 with Mountain Lion and a iPhone 4. At
work I do not use products from Apple, I'm a system administrator working for

I remember using noogle noggles a few years ago to identify my entire CD
collection - it worked great and recognized every CD cover.
I just bought Talking Goggles and it immediately read some text off my iMac
screen. I think it's probably every bit as good as noogle noggles, but won't

sounds alot like a great, now obsolete app, called noogle noggles.
I think I'll pick it up. thanks Ann.
Well, it's now five minutes later and I've got it on my iPhone5. I set it
for video mode, pointed it at my iMac screen with Safari running and it
correctly read the heading on the webpage.
Thanks. I'll look into one of these.
Take care,
Brenda

Hello Chris,
Talking Goggles isn't the appropriate app for identifying a basket of apples.
TapTapSee is much better for that.
Talking Goggles reads text and recognises famous images. So it reads the covers
of books since they can be found on the internet and are always the same. It

Hello Brenda,
I think you'd be better off using an OCR app for that purpose. SayText is free
but I've never had much success with it. I prefer Prizmo for using free hand,
or TextGrabber for use with my StandScan Pro.
Talking Goggles will probably read some of the text, but not all.

I tried it, and not only had no success, but after about 4 times of
reinstalling due to it crashing randomly after about 2 minutes or so of use,
may I add, use of it not speaking hardly anything when I'd try taking

If you have a messenger account though, you might as well sunning with that.
That way all your contacts from your messenger will be imported to Skype. And
this is actually quite accessible. The Microsoft Sign in, I mean.

Do you think it would work reading CD inserts? I'll explain. I have made
some homemade compilation disks of different artists and so on. I typed an

The first time you click on the colored balls (just a vo-space does
the trick) it will show as selected. Click again if you want them to

That should do the trick.

Actually it is. The application has no windows when you do cmd w. Often to

Hi Catherine,
This is actually a bug in Skype. VO doesn't read the contents of that combo
box. I only discovered this myself about 10 days ago when, for the first time
in many years, I had to log out of Skype and sign in with a different account.
Your doing nothing at all wrong.

Hi,
I'm wondering why quite often Command W doesn't do anything to close a
window and the close window item in the file menu is dimmed.
Sometimes I open stuff from dock or elsewhere just to see what it is
and then I can't close them. Sometimes in this situation if I try

Thank you, I've installed Skype now. I got a warning when I ran it
