OK, be careful here. You probably didn't mean what you actually typed, but

Chris,
I'm probably having similar problems here and there in mail to Andy, since
we're both pretty new at the Mac. I do have a large amount of messages in
GMAIL but think also that it may be our errors that are causing problems.
Certainly, earlier today I was looking at my music in iTunes an

Andy, how many messages do you have all total in your unified inbox? By
unified inbox, what I mean is, you know how you have your mailboxes table to
the left of the messages table? If you go and interact with that, and then
you go down to the second row in that table, which should! be your inb
the only way I have the issue is if the thread has a lot of messages. I run in
classic view if that makes a difference.

Hello Carol,
Often, when you're not allowed to shut down or quit an application, it's
because there's a dialogue box open. Use the Window chooser (VO-F2-F2) to see
what's there.
Have you looked for someone to give you some basic Mac and VoiceOver training?
It might help you get up and running.

Andy,
I have been having similar problems.
Andy,
I have been having similar problems.
One thing that sometimes seems to help me is, instead of stopping reacting in
messages, to cycle between the reading of headers or messages, and I think this
is the third one that sometimes comes up, but I can't remember offhand what it
