Have you tried that software called Dave from
http://www.thursby.com/products/dave.html ? It installs on the Mac and
supposedly sees everything Windows is sharing on the network. There's an
eval version there if you're willing to try one more thing.

This is what I've tried.
Of course, no problem with the Brother HL-1440 attached to the iMac. I
can also print from the PC, and the PowerBook.
I attached the Canon to the JetDirect, and was able to get one test
page to print from the PC. After that, nothing.

Actually, it's not forkliftnetting. Today's printers are all plastic,
so they weigh very little, and with usb, it's a piece of cake to carry
them over, and plug them in--no restarting or any other
(Simultaneously posted to the MacTalk and Mac-N-DOS lists)
